In this article I’m going to show you exactly what it takes to produce an exceptional warrior’s mindset. Let’s get into it!
Firstly let me share with you my personal story:
4 Years ago back in 2015 I found myself in a very dark space. The devil lurked around every corner. I had no money, I quit my job because my depression was so bad that I had no control of my thoughts, my feelings and consequently my actions. I was broken, I felt like I was on autopilot spiraling down deeper into the abyss.
I had to take control! Easier said than done right? Hell yeah it is. Imagine feeling like there is nobody to turn to, something like this was never easy to talk about. I had to learn to ground myself.
You’ve heard the saying ‘thoughts become things’ right? Well this is absolutely true! by incidentally force-feeding myself positive thoughts and feelings and constantly reminding myself that I am alive, that I am blessed; I was eventually able to break free from those chains holding me down.
You can control most things, But not everything
Once you regain ground (personally for me this took nearly 2 years), you need to take control. Keep feeding yourself these positive thoughts (this particular phase gets easier as you regain ground). Realize that you are in control of everything you can control. You are not in control of anything that you cannot control. READ THAT AGAIN.
You can control such things as: your effort, your attitude, your priorities and your mindset
You cannot control such things as: Your past, change, what others think or feel about you etc
Life gets tough, we get that. But resilience is key to overcoming the many obstacles or challenges life may throw at us. As previously stated: adversity builds character. Character builds strength. Strength makes you immortal (mentally speaking). Work on having a strong mind and the rest will fall into place.
Seek failure: failure is the only way to grow, the only way to rise up and learn from your mistakes. See mistakes for what they truly are. Mistakes are lessons hidden as failure. Failure has been wrongfully deemed almost as profanity in today’s society stemming mostly from over inflamed egos. I’m not trying to be derogatory or demeaning here, it’s just the facts. Everyone has an ego to some degree. Some people use it as fuel, others use it as a barrier to block all external and internal information. The first step to becoming resilient is to manifest vulnerability and humility. Break down your exterior ‘egotistical’ walls, show humility and be willing to learn: not only from others but also from your failures and mistakes.
Suppress your emotions: Being able to control your own thoughts, your own feelings and ultimately your own actions unlocks a host of powerful advantages when it comes to you exposing and tapping into your resilience in vexatious situations. The way you react to these unfortunate situations will heavily reflect and shape your character moving forward. To be Iron willed is comparable to being mentally immortal.
Embrace your flaws: As I previously noted; we all make mistakes. Acknowledgment of this will serve you well in times of adversity. None of us are perfect, none of us ever will be. We do not have to be perfect to inherit success. But we do need to fail (which is inevitable). Failure and acceptance of our own flaws go hand in hand.
Have a Vision
Think of your brain as your internal hard drive. All your memories, thoughts, feelings etc are stored within that hard drive. It has multiple filters, folders if you will that are constantly storing information. It can get pretty hectic up there right?
Up there somewhere we all have goals, dreams and ambitions. Problem is: they are all filtered through the same portal as everything else inside our mind. We have the ability as free thinking individuals to dust off our vision, to pull it straight to the front of our mind (again easier said than done).

I love his mentality and passion. But the one thing that is always in the foreground in anything that he sets out to do is: his clarity of his vision.
A very famous quote he lived by during his bodybuilding years and continues to etch into everything he continues to achieve:
“No matter what you do, you first have to have a vision… to see your goal, to believe in it, have faith in it and chase it. And then it’s fun to chase it. If you don’t have a goal or a vision, then you have nothing.”
This sums it up very nicely, if you have no vision, you have nothing. The purpose of having a vision is demanding more out of life, wanting to better yourself. You already have a strong iron will, so why not use it as a weapon against adversity while you actively pursue your destiny. Seems like a no brainer right?
Rome wasn’t built in a day. So neither should you! You will experience and deal with your battle differently to me or the next person. We ultimately wish to achieve resilience in most areas of our life and journey; but do not expect this to happen overnight. It takes years, even decades to build an elite level of mindset mastery. Go at your own pace, but most importantly, don’t place any unnecessary stress upon yourself by trying to achieve success or mastery overnight. You will be setting yourself up for dissappointment.
And lastly don’t be comparing yourself to others. Run your own race. Be authentic…Be true…and be prepared to work your a## off!
This information when implemented will provide you with the tools necessary to go into battle confidant that you will stand the test of time and emerge victorious. Become an Iron warrior, become mentally immortal and you too will remain undefeated.
